Our Roots

The Story Behind

Nonna’s Boutique

In 1972, Rosa Rossi opened a leather bottega in Florence, shaped by her grandmother’s craft and a strict rule: never rush quality.

In 1997, she brought her tools to the USA, opened Nonna’s Boutique, and today she and Giulia lead it together, with every piece checked before it ships.

"You waited for quality, or you went elsewhere."

— Rosa Rossi

Rosa Rossi

Master Artisan ·
The Matriarch

“Rosa doesn’t believe in ‘good enough.’ If a hide doesn’t feel right, it’s rejected. If a stitch is off, it’s redone.”

Inspects every hide by hand. Final say before anything ships.

Marco Rossi

The Bridge · Rosa's
Son

“Marco didn’t bring the craft to America. He brought the reason. His move and Giulia’s birth pulled Rosa across the ocean.”

Keeps the business running and the atelier protected from distractions.

Giulia Rossi

Creative Director
· The Visionary

“Giulia grew up in the shop. Today, she leads the modern vision and checks every finish and detail, side by side with Nonna.”

Oversees design and online. Double-checks every bag with Rosa.

The Standard

Nothing leaves

until it’s right.

Every bag is checked twice before it ships. Giulia reviews the finish, edges, and details. Rosa checks the structure and the stitchwork. If either sees something off, it goes back to the bench, no matter how far along it is.

Nearly 70% of hides

are rejected before we even begin

Cuts within 0.5mm, done by hand

Double-needle saddle stitch, 8

stitches per centimeter

If Rosa wouldn’t approve it, it

doesn’t ship
